This is Why You Can't Stick to New Habits
What does it actually take to change our behavior for life? To never go back to the way we used to be?
Most people who try to change their habits, their lifestyle, their lives - will fail. They'll go right back to the habits and behaviors they had before they made the change.
But some people do succeed. They go the distance. They make changes that stick for life.
Why? One thing is clear - people who succeed at sticking with lifestyle changes forever - FOR LIFE - do things differently.
Based on my research, my current theory is that they have 3 major differences:
1) They actually want the change
2) They enjoy the process
3) They become the change itself

Past the lips, on the hips. We can all lie to ourselves when we live in the pleasure trap. But, the crap that passes for food these days is terribly addictive, and drive cravings. Addicts always lie.

I eat my oathmeals with dried berrys and a bit of yoghurt before bed, to always remember my body what a hassle it would be, to become lactose intolerant and man, he tryed to make me avoid milk products. But my ancestors didend suck on bare proto cow titis, just for me to reverse their achivement.

You will lose weight, but will probably have an awfull time and regain it as soon as you return, because the problem is with nutrition at home. I don't know if there are fat camps in my country, but it sounds terrible. That said, the UK one looked nice, it even teaches them about nutrition, which is really important.

The mother doesn’t need to lose weight herself, she just needs to get out of her daughter’s way. Losing 100 pounds in 90 days - that’s freaking RIDICULOUS. With very strict, frankly unpleasant dieting and 2-3 hours of exercise a day (including 30-40 minutes of resistance training every other day), most people could lose about 12 pounds in a month. Not 30+ pounds in a month! Loss of 4 to 6 pounds a month is month is more reasonable for most (not super morbidly) people.

Being diabetic is no pleasure at all. You can take a diabetic's word for it. When it showed her saying I'd rather be diabetic than be miserable, I wanted to shout at her, 'swap your fat but healthy life with my constantly feeling generally off even though I take insulin and constantly police myself in situations healthy people can just do so I don't make it worse. For a month then return. If you don't change your tune there is no hope for you'!

Is sad to see this unhealthy relationship with food, which goes both ways. We need food to live, to function properly. Obsessing over a meal may work but you are getting that weight back eventually. To be blunt, just add more vegetables and fruits in your meals and is likely you'll fell more fit and will for sure lose weight.

This is interesting, when I go to fast food it is always planned, and I typically don't even finish my food. I do it because it's a convenient option and fast, so if I only have a 15 minute break in the middle of the day for a meal that's really the only option. And having the menus only visible from the order window is the worst, it just introduces panic, and it just makes me not want to put myself in that situation. It just means even more planning needs to go into it before leaving, as now I need to look up the menu and memorize what I want before I drive over, and it really means that I won't go to restaurants unless I have a set order that I get every time.

Science teacher? His "scientific method" is a joke. He talks about choices however for there to be consent there has to be informed consent. The uproar just from trying to get companies to publish calorie counts was incredible, now try to get them to publish what is in their food. But as someone who works in healthcare I can say his experiment and the ideas behind it is what keeps us in business.
